It has been a while since I have mentioned Twellow, so I thought I would give an update on new features that have been added to the directory of Twitter users.

  • Extended Bio - Even though you have a main bio of 256 characters, a bigger bio has been added to your profile which has a capacity of 2000 characters. This provides you with a lot more space to be descriptive on your Twellow account.
  • Twellow Pulse - This is a place where you can view in real time what is being tweeted with regard to the categories that you belong to in an expand/collapse format.
    Twellow Pulse
You may select up to 20 categories to view the pulse of. This is a great way to view trends within your subscribed categories.
  • Twellow Maps - This feature was integrated for you to to view where other Twellow/Twitter users are located. All you have to do is, when you are searching for someone, just click the map icon () next to the Location field on the right-hand column of the search results, and a map will display their specified geographic location.

Twellow is an awesome directory of people from a B2B standpoint, and I highly recommend that you give it a try!

iEntry Directory Portal ForumOn the iEntry Directory Portal Forum, I have just recently changed the registration to double-opt in. What this means is that when a user registers for an account on the forum, they will receive an e-mail at the address which they have registered with including a link which will fully validate your forum account.

This measure has been taken to prevent forum spammers from clogging the forum with posts that include spam/erroneous links, and to keep the forum neat and presentable.

This should not be a really noticeable change, but I thought I would bring this to your attention.

JaydeI have received a great response from Jayde Listing Notes subscribers with regard to the SEOopen plug-in not compatible with Firefox 3+. On behalf of iEntry, I do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

However, I do recommend a similar SEO-based plug-in called SEO for Firefox. It is fully compatible with Firefox 3+, and is a handy SEO tool.

I have provided a video below from the download site of how the plug-in works and how it can be useful to your SEO needs:

The American Presidential election is less than a week away, so I thought I would dedicate this week’s Directory Spotlight edition to the November 4th election.

One way to get the word out about your campaign or your favorite candidate’s campaign out is by use of niche directories. These directories can also provide information to help you gain more information and knowledge about the Presidential candidates, or your local state/city candidates.

I have provided a list below of directories from within the iEntry network that have political-related categories where you can submit your electoral site or blog to:

For a few hours this morning (Friday, October 24th), there was some unexpected downtime of the iEntry Directory Portal. This was caused by a minor server error.

On behalf of iEntry, I do apologize for any inconvenience caused by the downtime.

On a lighter note, the iEntry Directory Portal was recently mentioned on SEOpittfall for “Good source lists to look for quality niche and vertical directories”
